Board of Directors

Sue Butler

Sue is the Executive Director at BritVil Community Food Pantry. Sue has worked at the Food Pantry since 2004 to fight hunger and served more than 22,135 people in 2016. In her current role, she oversees fundraising from corporations, foundations, individuals, government, civic, and religious organizations, and daily operations of the Food Pantry. Sue previously worked for a food distribution center. Sue received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix. She resides in Oklahoma City with her husband. Sue follows Founder and Executive Director Ernestine Thomas who announced in 2003 that she would step down from her position, following 13 years of leadership. Sue and her husband Bruce are members of Crossing Community Church.

Lori Young

Lori joined the Board in 2014. She serves as the Executive Director of Trinity Legal Clinic of Oklahoma (Oklahoma City, OK). As ED, Lori oversees approximately 50 volunteer attorneys who provide free legal services to people in poverty while sharing the love of Christ with them. Trinity Legal Clinic operates free legal clinics at four locations, where they assist approximately 225 clients each year with legal issues involving, among others, family law, criminal law, social security, and housing. Lori is also an adjunct professor at OSU-OKC teaching Leadership and Public Service Administration. Lori and her husband Preston are members of North Side Christian Church.

Barry Bloyd

Barry has been on the board of directors since 2007 serving as President for two years. Barry retired in January 2005 as Director of USDA’s Oklahoma Agricultural Statistics Service. He is a native of Aline Oklahoma, a graduate of Oklahoma State University, and was an employee of USDA for nearly 40 years working in Nebraska, Iowa, Washington D.C., Missouri, Arizona, and Oklahoma. He and his wife Connie have two sons and they are members of North Side Christian Church.

Tami Bramel

Tami Bramel joined the board of directors in 2009. Tami was a Regional Vice President for AT&T Wireless and worked in the wireless industry for over 20 years. Since leaving AT&T, Tami has devoted her time to serving the inner-city youth in Oklahoma City. She most recently served as the Associate Director of Life Change Academy. She has previously served on the boards of Junior Achievement serving as Chairwoman, Finance Committee for the Oklahoma City YWCA, The Oklahoma Academy, and American Cellular Management Corporation. She is a member of Britton Christian Church.

Deana Basey

Deana join the board in 1999 and has served as a volunteer for over 20 years She’s the vice president of Basey’s Roofing which she and her husband established almost 40 years ago. She is currently working in women’s ministry at Britton Christian Church and helps mentor at-risk youth.

Bob Edwards

Bob joined the board in 1998. He is part owner and Director of First Security Bank as well as Edwards Properties and Investments. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BBA. He is the past President of Edwards Petro, Inc. and Am-Pro Inc. He has previously served as chairman of the board for Village Christian Church and on the Board of Trustees for Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.

Kimberly Jones

Kim Jones has been a volunteer at BritVil since 2014 and has served on the board of directors since 2016. Kim is a native of OKC and alumnus of OU who taught elementary music before taking on her preferred role as a full-time mom. She has been married to her husband Edward for 35 years. They have 3 children: Kelsey, who is married to Chris, Ben, and Jonathan (who also works at the pantry when he isn’t at school), plus Lucy and Dolly the miniature schnauzers! Kim is loving her new role as a grandmother, her first grandbaby arrived in early 2022! A few of her favorite things are volunteering at BritVil, watching Sooner football, cooking, and hanging out with her family.

Darren Wheeler

Darren Wheeler is the owner of Wheeler’s Meat Market. Darren is the fourth generation of the family business started in 1907. Darren serves as Board Chairman of Fellowship of Christian Athletes Endowment Board and also serves as Board Chairman of FCA State Board. Darren and his wife Paula are members of Crossings Community Church. Darren has two boys: Justin and Jared, and also a daughter-in-law Kirbie, and a granddaughter Avery.

Nancy Miller

Nancy Miller joined the board in 2021. She graduated with her Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from UCO and worked as a Probation and Parole Officer before “retiring” to stay at home with her children. Nancy currently helps her husband with their investment properties while also working as a realtor with Metro Connect Real Estate. She loves spending time with her family, knitting, live music, and volunteering at the pantry.
